George Brown Southwick was host of the Mudgee Holyoak Hotel1 .

Private Arthur King, son of Mr. and Mrs. King, of Holyoak Hotel, Mudgee, was one of several district soldiers who journeyed back to Australia in the transport Khyber. Mrs. King and a son, went to Sydney to meet Trooper King2 .
