George Brown Southwick was host of the Mudgee Holyoak Hotel1 .

Mr. W. H. Kurtz has sold the goodwill of the Holyoak Hotel, Mudgee, to Mr. J. King, of Cassilis. We wish the new proprietor all sorts of luck. We hope he will do well and that his friends from Cassilis will not forget to visit him when they are in town2 .

Private Arthur King, son of Mr. and Mrs. King, of Holyoak Hotel, Mudgee, was one of several district soldiers who journeyed back to Australia in the transport Khyber. Mrs. King and a son, went to Sydney to meet Trooper King3 .
