1875

28 January 1875
During the week the heat has been intense, and there are no signs of rain. The moon is at its full to-day, and there is just a chance that a change for the better may take place.
A public meeting was held in the Town Hall, Mudgee, on the 19th inst., for the purpose of taking steps to form a fire brigade for the town. The Mayor occupied the chair. A resolution was carried affirming the desirability of forming a brigade, and another one also appointing a committee. A secretary and treasurer were elected1 .
