The Town Hall was erected in 1880, at a cost of £4000. The main hall (upstairs) has seating accommodation for 500 persons, and there is a good stage and dressing-rooms. On the lower floor are the council chamber, Mayor's room, council clerk's office, and a committee room, also two offices let to tenants3 .
