HADRIAN.
DUTY AT BELMONT STUD.
The brilliant horse Hadrian was sent to Mr. H. Windle's property, Belmont Stud, Rylstone, last week, to be let down preparatory to doing stud duty. Included in the sires that have done well on the property are Cistercian and Closing Time. Imported Roger de Bush was also there last season.
A rich chestnut of attractive appearance, Hadrian possessed exceptional pace up to nine furlongs, and his many victories included the Canterbury Park and Rosehill Guineas and the C. W. Cropper Plate. He is by imported Tippler from the Oakleigh Plate winner, Figure, by The Welkin.
Hadrian retires from the race-track as a four-year-old, and should have a long and successful career at the stud3

Well-known Entire Drops Dead
Mr. Harry Windle, of 'Belmont' Stud, Rylstone, suffered a severe loss last Sunday when the well known blood sire John Dory dropped dead. The horse was exercising in the yard at the time and experts who examined him after his death said the cause was excitement, which brought on heart failure. John Dory was purchased by Mr. Windle in 1946, and his sudden death is a loss not only to the stud but to the district5
