Sales ends era at 'Beaudesert'
One of the largest farm clearing sales in recent times was conducted on Saturday morning at the historic 'Beaudesert' property in Mudgee.
The sale of 520 lots comprising of machinery and plant from three properties adjoining Beaudesert was conducted by The Property Shop and McDonald Lawson.
The properties themselves were sold by Hugh Bateman of the Property Shop.
The sale marked the end of an era for the Loneragan, Bourke and Fuller families and for manager Barry Nott and his team.
Auctioneer Andrew Palmer of The Property Shop said that around 600 people had attended the sale from all over the state, along with several buyers from interstate. Mr Palmer said bidding was 'consistently spirited' throughout the sale.
Mr Palmer said most of the sale items were in good condition and attributed that to the management of the three properties.
