15 April 1856 the licence for the Coach and Horses at Round Swamp was given to John George Smith, of Round Swamp, Thomas Barnaby was the proprietor. Smith's sureties were John Purvis, of Rylstone and Richard Young, of Nullo Mountain. The Coach and Horses was three miles from the nearest licenced premises1 .
2 September 1856 the licence for the Coach and Horses at Round Swamp was transferred from John George Smith to Thomas Barnaby. His sureties were George Tailby and Andrew Dunn Jr2 .
