Chance for new winegrowers - Coast & Country
A high-producing Mudgee vineyard, Mt Frome Vineyard, is to be offered for sale by tender closing on February 27.

The property has about 20 hectares of vines which are fully developed and has areas suited to further expansion. The vineyard is next to the Cudgegong River, a short distance east of the historic township. It also has a fully equipped well and a 22-megalitre dam.

The property has plantings of chardonnay, cabernet sauvignon and shiraz grapes, with the first plantings established in 1990.

Mt Frome Vineyard is nearing the stage of full production and there is a lucrative contract for the supply of grapes, with a 20 per cent retention allowance for its own label if required.

Because it is the first sale of a Mudgee district vineyard in production for some years, the sale is sure to set a benchmark price. The agent is Hugh Bateman from The Property Shop, Mudgee (0263) 72 22221 .
