Mudgee grapes for sale
NEW Yorker Frankie Cadwell is selling out of Australia. Her Owl Head Vineyard at Mudgee will be auctioned on November 29.
The 168.75ha property is a little under four hours' drive from Sydney and has a prime position in the Mudgee district.
The vineyard covers 31.02ha with vines up to 27 years old consisting of 80 per cent red and 20pc white varieties.
Abundant water from the Cudgegong River, bores and a large storage dam yield 201 megalitres annually, ensuring optimum vineyard production.
A further 50ha would be suitable for vineyard development with the balance ideal for grazing and cropping.
A feature of Owl Head is the American barn design homestead with a lot of glass and extensive internal use of milled white cypress timber. Open-plan living areas, vaulted ceilings, double-sided fireplace and master kitchen are prominent features.
Two guest wings have double bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms and the main rooms open on to spacious 4m-wide verandas with views over the property and vineyards.
Other farm buildings included a fully renovated slab timber manager's cottage, office, sheds, stables and yards1 .
