The secretary of the Lue C.C. arranged a match between the ladies of Lue. The club played on the Lue cricket ground. Needless to say it proved very interesting, as the men bowled and batted with the left hand only. The gents donned skirts and fancy costumes and looked very ? Mr. J. Thompson, our genial hotelkeeper, had on a figured wrapper and small white hat, and proved very nimble in the borrowed costume. R. Oakley, as 'Black Maria,' wore a blue print wrapper (said it was hot). W. Drew as 'Black Gin Julia,' had a green skirt and brown blouse and white hat. S. Abbott, black skirt white shoes; R. Donnelly black skirt, red, white and blue skirt; R. Thompson, navy riding costume, belt to match; S. Robertson, grey lustre skirt white shoes: T. Giles, as 'Girlie,' blue print skirt, white hat; C. Oakley, navy skirt, white border; E. Loy. as 'Maryanne,' navy blue skirt; A. Rope, black skirt; E. Bennett, as '40 Love,' pink skirt; W. Milton, in brown skirt, caused no end of laughter in his efforts to catch the ball under his skirt; C. Oakley and S. Robertson indulged in a waltz on the green, while the others caught the ball and threw it in. The ladies playing were Mesdames Thompson, Donnelly, Fosdike, Misses E. Batten, A. Costigan, M. McKinnon, E. Keogh, M. Thompson, E. Miskle, G. Drew, K. Ryan, E. Bennett. The ladies went to the wickets first. Lue folk are looking forward to another good time when the return match will be played1
