Josh had previously worked for Orlando (one year), then Peter Logan (five years), and has been vineyard manager at Huntington Estate for the past three vintages. The partners were thus able to assess the potential of the rundown Apple Tree Flat vineyard in 2007, and have since worked hard to bring the vineyard back to full health. They have particular faith in sangiovese and barbera (5 ha) as varieties for the future. All the fruit is sold under contract, but they keep small amounts of grapes to make the Skimstone wines1
