WINDS BRING DOWN OLD RYLSTONE CROSS
The Rylstone area has suffered from unusual heavy winds blowing at almost gale force at times causing damage in the town and district.
Among the casualties was the cross on St. James’ Church of England, Rylstone.
It was blown down in three pieces.
Fortunately it is considered that the cross can be mended and re-erected in the place it has occupied over the past 100 years or so.
St. James’ Church is one of the oldest buildings in the district1
