Dirt bike rider dies in jump
A DIRT bike rider has died after landing on his head while attempting a jump at a Mudgee motocross track.
Ash Stuart, 28, of Muswellbrook suffered fatal head injuries at 11.30am on Saturday at the Louee Enduro and Motocross Complex at Lue Station, 30km east of Mudgee.
Tributes flowed on Facebook for the member of the Upper Hunter Motorcycle Club. "RIP to Ash Stuart, a great member and helper of UHMCC Inc. Passed away doing what he loved, he will be sorely missed," the club posted.
Mr Stuart grew up in Gilgandra, north of Dubbo and worked at Maintenance & Technical Services in Singleton.Management at the track declined to comment on the accident last night. An investigation was under way1 .

Motorcyclist lucky to be alive after being pulled from Lue dam unconscious
A motorcyclist is lucky to be alive after he crashed into a dam near Mudgee on Friday.
NSW Ambulance paramedics responded to reports that a motorcyclist had fallen off his bike and landed in a dam at Walkers Lane, Lue about midday on July 15.
Three paramedic road crews and the Westpac Ambulance Rescue helicopter were dispatched to the scene.
He was airlifted to Newcastle's John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition.
NSW Ambulance inspector Peter Rowlands said if it weren't for the bystanders who performed CPR, the man would have died.
"Thankfully bystanders managed to get him out and commence CPR.
"This patient is very sick now but without their quick response, he certainly wouldn't be alive."

Man killed in accident at Lue
Man killed in accident at Lue motocross track after fall A man died in a motocross accident at Lue, 30 kilometres east of Mudgee after being hit by another rider.
The accident occured at the Louee Motocross and Enduro Complex on Saturday 26 November.
Police say at about 1.30pm two men who had travelled from Sydney were riding on the track when the 61-year-old man went over a jump and fell onto the track.
Moments later another male rider came over the same jump and was unable to avoid the fallen man, hitting him
CPR was performed at the scene before police arrived and the Toll Air Ambulance was called but the 61-year-old man died before the helicopter arrived at the scene.
The other rider was treated for shock at the scene but no serious injuries were reported. He was also taken for mandatory drug and alcohol testing.
Police say both men were from the Sydney area and had travelled to Lue for the day. Police say the two men were known to each other.
Police are currently dealing with enquiries from witnesses at the scene and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
The Lue complex will remain closed until Friday, 2 December.

Dirt bike rider dead after collision on private property
Dirt bike rider dead after collision at Lue A motor bike rider has died after colliding with a tree on a dirt bike course on Sunday, July 30.
The rider, who has been identified as a 27-year-old man, was riding with a friend when the crash took place.
The pair were riding on a privately operated dirt bike track along Walkers Lane at Lue.
NSW Police reported he died at the scene before emergency services arrived.
A crime scene was established.
The scene was examined by specialist police and a report will be prepared for the coroner4 .
