THE MEROO.
The road from the Louisa to Avisford, the headquarters of the Commissioner for the Meroo district, lies over a very picturesque succession of hills; and the encampment itself, is a sequestered nook on the banks of the winding stream presents a scene of singular interest, and is strikingly in contrast with the more bustling aspect of the corresponding stations at Tambaroura and Sofala1
