The ceremony of laying the foundation stone of St. Joseph's new Roman Catholic Church was performed by his Lordship, Dr. Murray, Bishop of Maitland, on Sunday last, the 28th instant, in the presence of a good congregation. Upwards of fifty pounds was laid on the stone. The building is to be of wood, with a stone foundation. The contractor, Mr. John Miller, has made good progress with the work, and so far it does him credit. It is anticipated that the building will be completed ready for opening by the 29th of April, and will cost something like £8001
