Pyramul Memorial Hall

1955

10 January 1955
Opening of Pyramul Memorial Hall
Sir. - I am writing these few lines in appreciation of the magnificent support accorded us at the opening of the Pyramul Memorial Hall last Friday night. It was a real delight to see so many people present from Mudgee, Kandos, Bathurst and the smaller centres in those areas, also from as far away as Moree, the Blue Mountains, and quite a number from Sydney who had lived at Pyramul some time during the last 60 years.
I am, etc., Milton Price, President, Pyramul Memorial Hall Committee1 .

A Cracking Success
The ball held last Friday evening to mark the opening of the Pyramul Hall was a cracking success from every angle. Door takings constituted a record, and the folk in charge of arrangements left no stone unturned to ensure that patrons received their money’s worth of entertainment2 .

Pyramul Ball Praised
Reference has been made already to the great success of the Ball held at Pyramul last Friday evening to mark the opening of the new hall at that centre. But what impressed Mudgee visitors most were the smoothness with which the function was carried through, and the fine behaviour of all and sundry in attendance. As one patron put it: “Usually in any crowd that size there are three or four young ‘lairs’ who spoil the fun for everyone else. But not so at Pyramul. From start to finish, the Ball was most enjoyable3 .
