Home Rule School of Arts

1922

17 August 1922
SOCIAL AT HOME RULE.
A very enjoyable tennis social was held in the Home Rule School of Arts, which was most generously fitted up for the occasion by Mr. Tobin. The floor was perfect and a fine piano was installed for the occasion by the pro motors. There were also three violins, which accounted for excellent music, supplied by Mr. Passlow and his wife and two of his pupils - Mr. Leo Benson and Master Lloyd Orth. Mr. J. Benson carried out the duties of M.C. and Mr. E. Baker was caretaker. Dancing was indulged in until midnight, when refreshments were served. Mr. and Mrs. Passlow rendered in pleasing style two very appropriate songs. Proceeds were not up to expectations, but they will be very helpful towards providing tennis requisites, which will be much appreciated at the Linburn Public school1 .
