PROGRESSIVE ORGANISATION
THE Welshville Parents and Citizens' Association, Stony Creek, is performing very fine work in the Interests of the school children in that centre. Organisations of this description are capable of much good, and should be encouraged in every possible way. There are very many things which can be done to promote the welfare of the children, particularly in small country centres, and the Stony Creek folk are certainly doing their share1 .

Concert and Dance
The Welshville Parents and Citizens' Association is making elaborate arrangements for the grand concert and dance at Cooyal on October 26, and everything points to a record success.
A largely-attended meeting, presided over by Mr. E. Pye, was held at the school on Monday evening last, and great enthusiasm prevailed. A willing band of workers was appointed to carry out the arrangements, particularly as to seating accommodation, and the comfort of visitors, as well as the erection of a marquee for dressing purposes, supper, etc. Nothing will be left undone to endeavor to make this event a real success. Mr. Hankin, who has charge of the pupils, reports that they are well advanced, and will not discredit him. Moreover, some of Mudgee's best singers have kindly consented to assist. Mr. Chas. Wilton, also of Mudgee, has willingly consented to act as accompanist. The Cooyal Hall is always popular with lovers of dancing, so, given fine weather, the committee is confident that October 28 will be an eventful night for all concerned2 .

BIG COOYAL FUNCTION
THE enthusiasts connected with the Welshville Parents and Citizens' Association are preparing a great programme for the concert to be held in the Cooyal Hall on October 28, and there appears to be little doubt that the function will be the most successful on record. Mudgee's leading artists have consented to assist, while the local talent is reported to be right above the ordinary. An added attraction will be the dance to follow, for which elaborate preparations are being made3 .

2 November 1933
CONCERT AT COOYAL
OWING to a bereavement in a well-known district family, the Welshville Parents and Citizens' Association decided to postpone the concert and dance fixed for October 29 until November 11. The function, which will be held in the Cooyal hall, promises to be the most successful held in that centre for years. There has been great preparatory work among the youthful artists, while some of Mudgee's leading vocalists have consented to assist4 .

WELSHVILLE P. AND C. ASSOCIATION
THE best attended meeting of the above was held, a few evenings ago, Mr. E. Page (president) being in the chair. This being the annual meeting, the secretary (Mr. Morgan Gleeson) produced a balance sheet, which disclosed a decent surplus, even after liberally assisting the teacher (Mr. Gibson) with purchase of school material, garden tools, library books and cleansing of school tanks.
Officers elected for the ensuing year were: President, Mr. E. Pye; vice-presidents, Messrs. W. Kurtz and A. Ellis; auditors, Messrs. W. Gibson and W. Kurtz; secretary and treasurer, Mr. M. Gleeson.
The annual picnic will be held in the Cooyal Park on 31st March, to be followed by a dance. The president, with two live-wire organisers in the persons of Mrs. E. J. Babbage and W. Kurtz, and a good working committee, will leave nothing to chance, particularly in the matter of comfort to children and visitors5 .

18 October 1934
WELSHVILLE CONCERT
THE enthusiastic folk connected with the Welshville (Stony Creek) Parents and Citizens' Association have almost completed arrangements for the grand school concert and dance in the Cooyal hall on Saturday night, November 3. The pupils, under the skilful tuition of their teacher, Mr. Han kin, are well advanced, and they will be assisted by several talented Mudgee artists. For the convenience of Mudgee folk who desire to attend, a free lorry (Menchin's) will leave Marks' corner at 7.30 on the eventful night6 .
