25 August 1960

Business brisk as usual at Bisley's store.

The new proprietors of Bisley's, the well known Rylstone departmental store, have settled in after taking over control early this month. They are Mr. and Mrs. R H Sparkes and Mr. and Mrs. J McKeever, all of whom are natives of Birmingham, England. The former couple arrived only recently with their teenage daughter, but Mr. and Mrs. McKeever have been Aussies for over 10 years. They have three children.

Both men have had wide experience in motor mechanics, Mr. McKeever having been attached to the experimental section of the Rover Motor Company of England. He and Mr. Sparkes also held responsible positions with the British Motor Corporation engaged in developmental work.

They hope to expand Bisley's motor and mechanical section and, as soon as practicable, open a modern service station adjacent to the produce department1 .
