The people of Upper Meroo have been rightly clamoring for the appointment of a master of their public school, which has been teacherless. since Mr. Fred Johnson was transferred some months ago. The parents of the district are naturally anxious that the want (and it is the biggest of wants in a country district) should be supplied. Mr. Robert Dixon, a married man was appointed to the charge of the school quite a while ago. but on inspecting the residence he found it to be in so unsatisfactory condition that it was impossible to use it. Until the residence has been fixed up Mr. Dixon will not be able to go into it. We feel sure that the Education Department will, without much delay do what is necessary to be done to make the residence habitable. Captain Dunn, M.L.A., is doing all that he can in the matter, and there is every reason to hope that his efforts will shortly be entirely successful. Pending the fixing up of the Meroo residence Mr. Dixon is serving as assistant at the Mudgee District School2
