WHERE DIAMONDS WERE FOUND AT GULGONG.
The New Caledonia Gold-mining Syndicate has made a big discovery of gold and diamond bearing wash-dirt in the Guntawang woolshed paddock, four miles west of Gulgong. From a trial of 200 loads of wash 150 diamonds up to 2 carats were recovered, besides gold up to 1oz per load. These diamonds have been cut and polished in Hatton Gardens, London, and declared by experts to be first water whites equal to the world's best.
