TOOLAMANANG STATION
THE HOME OF MR. JAMES JENNINGS.
"Toolamanang" station near Cudgegong, the property of Mr. James Jennings, was the subject of an article in the February number of "Dalgety's Review." The article, which was as follows, was accompanied by several illustrations of this magnificent property:-
The accompanying views depict portions of Toolamanang, one of the most compact properties in the Mudgee district. It is situated on the Cudgegong River, 22 miles from Mudgee and 13 miles from Rylstone, on the main Sydney-Mudgee road and in direct communication with Rylstone.
Toolamanang has an area of 17,000 acres of secured land, chiefly free hold, and all highly improved. It is the property of Mr. James Jennings. The estate is watered by six miles of double frontage to the Cudgegong River. In addition thereto is a never-failing supply of running water from the Cudgegong, Oakey, Bocoble and Aaron's Creeks, which run through the property. So ample and excellent is the supply of water on the estate that it has never been
necessary to expend any money on water conservation. The country consists of white box ridges, red soil and limestone hills with black soil flats. The river frontage land is of a rich river soil, specially adapted for lucerne and corn growing; 300 acres of this are now laid down with lucerne and 70 acres are under corn.
The property is securely fenced and sub-divided into 60 paddocks ranging from 10 to 1000 acres. The stock on Toolamanang comprises some 10,000 high-class sheep, 1000 head of cattle, and 60 head of draught horses, light harness and saddle horses. The woolshed is fitted with all the latest improvements, containing 10 Wolsley shearing machines, and there is an up-to-date pumping plant, giving an abundant supply of water to the shearing sheds and drafting yards.
The nucleus of this property was purchased by the present owner 27 years ago, and has been added to by purchase from various persons, and to-day is one of the most compact properties in the Mudgee district.
An excellent demand has always been secured for the Toolamanang wool clip, which for a number of years has been realised in the Sydney market, and with most satisfactory results. It is invariably in good condition, and of fine quality2 .

13 July 1922
