Fire at Dungaree. - On Monday night last, a fire took place at the Dungaree Post Office, resulting in the contents of a bedroom, and some money and property of the Government being destroyed. The postmaster - (Mr. C. Brown) was absent at Lue with the mails at the time, and the fire was first discovered by Mrs. Brown, who speedily summoned assistance. The flames were subdued with all haste, not before the loss had resulted. It was supposed the fire originated from a spark from the chimney, and as the building was rather delapidated, it did not take much to start the fire. Some changes are likely to result. Would not this be a good opportunity for the residents to petition for the re-opening of the Lue station to where the post office might be transferred1 .
