MINING.
At the silver-mine at Mount Stewart, Leadville, there are some 20 men at work, and, it is said, at no very distant date operations will be extended and employment found for many more. At Belera Copper-mine, near Goolma, the first smelting since the reopening of the mine has been made with most gratifying results1 .
